The osprey is a large raptor that can be found around the world. It is an expert fisher, diving from great heights and often making catches underwater. They have uniquely adapted features that allow them to do this, such as talons that are like barbed hooks for snatching fish, reversable outer toes so they can hold their prey in place and water-proof feathers to help keep them dry while they're underwater. Ospreys generally nest near bodies of water where they can easily find food.   Outside of catching its own prey it also scavenges on dead marine animals and feeds off carrion if necessary. It is also known for being very vocal with its mates, emitting a variety of sounds to call out to them from long distances.
