Why is the Kestrel a remarkable bird?

This ability, called 'kiting', involves beating its wings rapidly while gaining lift by moving its tail. The kestrel also has spectacular eyesight; it can spot tiny objects on the ground with precision so that it can swoop down to catch prey like mice and voles. Other unique characteristics of this majestic species include its distinct falcon coloring, with a bright rufous back and rusty-red tailed feathers. It truly is an amazing creature!
