American Kestrel Women's Racerback Tank
Does the Kestrel hunt using eyesight?
A kestrel is a type of falcon that is often referred to as the 'common' kestrel and is one of the most widespread and recognizable birds of prey. What makes this species of bird particularly interesting, however, is their ability to hover in mid-air during hunting. Kestrels are able to detect tiny movements beneath them from high above, as well as use air currents to keep their station in the sky for large amounts of time - something many other types of birds are unable to do. In addition, they have keen eyesight that allows them to spot even the slightest movement down below, resulting in an impressive ability to hunt their prey with great success. All these characteristics have made the kestrel an especially adept hunter and an incredibly special species of bird.
