A Baptist minister, Dr. King became a champion of nonviolent protests against segregation, racism, and other forms of discrimination. He is remembered today as one of the most influential figures in modern US history, pushing for racial justice and equality through peaceful means like marches and speeches—notably his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech at the Lincoln Memorial in 1963.
