Northern Flicker Glass Jar Soy Wax Candle
Northern Flicker Glass Jar Soy Wax Candle
The northern flicker is a large woodpecker with a barred back and distinctive red crescent on its chest. It is easily identified by the loud rattling call it makes that can be heard in open spaces, such as shrublands, grasslands, and even suburban areas. There are two subspecies of the northern flicker found across North America: one living east of the Rocky Mountains and another further west of them. As an insectivore, these colorful birds prefer to eat ants, beetles and other insects they find on the ground or in shallow excavations in trees. They will also eat fruit, berries and nuts at both their breeding grounds and during migration time. This makes them key players in seed dispersal for many local plants species!
